Recently I had a nice discovery of who is behind this soothing music and sound I normally use for my sitting meditation. Master Kitaro, a Grammy and Golden Globe award-winning Japanese musician, composer and multi-instrumentalist.
I love reading quotes.
To fulfill this passion, I have already created, on Word, a file that gathers some soul touching ones, and lately I started to divide them into categories for easy search when I am in a deep need for inspiration and guidance.
In order to share those thoughts, I decided to start a category on the topic..by adding some of those passages or expressions that may help in soothing our busy minds and cluttered souls.
So let us start. Here I go:
“Doing nothing is better than being busy doing nothing.” Lao Tzu
“Nature does not hurry, yet everything is accomplished.”Lao Tzu
“Without great solitude no serious work is possible”. Pablo Picasso
Lao Tzu - a mythical figure of the Chinese tradition who lived in the 6th century BC
By the way, Lao Tzu is an ancient Chinese philosopher ( more on him on wikipedia), who left insights that go deep into the blood.
What encouraged me to do this post today, was the website ZenHabits I spent hours browsing its topics which are defined by the “About” page of the site:
Zen Habits is about finding simplicity in the daily chaos of our lives. It’s about clearing the clutter so we can focus on what’s important, create something amazing, find happiness.
The name if the site itself is an indication of what you can hit there. The guy behind it is Leo Babauta (Be one of his Twitter followers). He is an author of many books on the same niche. One if his best selling books is The Power of Less on the fine art of limiting yourself to the essentials..on business and in life.
An other book he has published is Focus: A simplicity manifesto in the Age of Distraction. It has an e-book version and printed one as well is. He avails some chapters of the book for free access.
While I was reading this free & juicy content, I was able to see some of those quotes on the header of some pages, which is really really interesting to give values of what he is preaching. Inspirational Quotes give the reading a special taste, while reminding about the true values of life.
